Brief Overview
The distance from Arusha to Ngorongoro is long, but as you enjoy the conservation area’s breathtaking landscapes and diverse species, you’ll be glad for the early start and late end.
A half- game drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area will be yours to enjoy. This area is the greatest in the northern circuit for viewing the mysterious black rhinoceros. You can also see roving lion prides, sizable hyena packs, wallowing hippopotamuses, huge herds of wildebeest, stoic cape buffalo, vibrantly colored flamingos, and other animals within the park. One of the most amazing safari experiences available is in Ngorongoro!
NGORONGORO – ARUSHA CONSERVATION AREA
Early in the morning, you’ll leave Arusha for the protracted but beautiful drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll see thriving Maasai settlements along the journey, as well as broad grasslands studded with acacia trees and the occasional giraffe or wildebeest.
After signing in at the park, you’ll start the steep descend into the caldera. Cape buffalo and baboon groups live in the mist-shrouded jungles of the mountain, and those who are especially fortunate might even see a grazing elephant or a cautious leopard gliding through the thick green undergrowth.
You’ll pause at the Ngorongoro observation area to take in the breathtaking scale of the caldera. The caldera floor is covered with cloud shadows, and those with keen eyes may notice vast herds of zebra and wildebeest wandering around below. The soda lakes sparkle in the sunlight, and the whole scene comes together to create an incredibly lovely panorama.
We’ll now continue our ascent into the caldera, where more than 120 different kinds of mammals live out their daily lives. The park is home to all five members of the Big Five and is the greatest location in the northern circuit to view black rhinoceroses and cape buffalo. Additionally, we’ll observe sizable hyena bands as well as less well-known predators like jackals and serval cats.
You’ll go to Lake Magadi, a sizable salt lake that attracts flamingos as well as other waterbirds including pelicans and storks. A picnic lunch at the well-known hippo pool is also an odd experience because you’ll enjoy your meal within a few steps from huge hippopotamuses who calmly frolic in the cold water.
You’ll experience the finest of what Africa has to offer over the course of five hours. You’ll go back to Arusha in the late afternoon, your head filled with incredible experiences.
