Those taking the Shira (Londorossi) route on foot will go with their transfer driver to the Londorossi Gate and then, at a height of around 3800m, to the Moram Barrier. It is crucial that you have given yourself enough time to adjust to the rise in altitude.

The approach to Kili from the west is quite similar to the approach from Lemosho. Shira (Londorossi) travels via the magnificent Shira plateau before joining the Machame trail. If you are okay with starting at a high altitude, this challenging route offers for decent acclimatization.

What is the success rate of the Lemosho high altitude drop route?

Whilst there are no official statistics, the average success rate across all Kilimanjaro operators for the seven- Lemosho high altitude drop route is around 85%

Day 1: Arrival. 

When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a representative of Kilimanjaro Ascent will be waiting to greet you and drive you to the hotel that is included in the tariff. The hotel offers all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, including warm rooms, hot water, courteous service, a pool, and Internet connection. There will be a briefing with our management in the evening, and they will make sure you are prepared to start the ascent.

Be aware that check-in begins at 2:00 PM.

Day 2: Ascent From Londross ( Morrum barrier ) to Shira 1 Camp.

The Londorossi Park Gate is where you are taken to to register with the Kilimanjaro National Park. Following that, you are driven quite a distance to Morum Barrier. This is the starting point of your ascent; from there, you make your way through heath and moorland to Shira 1 Camp, where you spend the night.

Day 3: Ascent From Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp.

We spend the entire exploring the Shira plateau. Shira 2 camp is located on moorland meadows near a stream and is reached after a leisurely stroll east toward Kibo’s glaciated peak over the plateau. We next proceed to Moir Hut, a remote location at the foot of Lent Hills. Lent Hills offers a wide range of treks, making this a fantastic chance to acclimate. One of the highest plateaus on earth is Shira.

Day 4: Ascent From Shira 2 Camp to Baranco Camp via Lover Tower

We proceed eastward from the Shira Plateau along a hill, past the intersection that leads to Kibo’s peak. As we go on, our course shifts to the south-east, in the direction of the “Shark’s Tooth” lava tower. We reach the second junction, which leads us to the Arrow Glacier at a height of 16,000 feet, shortly after passing the tower. Moving on, we descend to the Barranco Hut, which is 13,000 feet above sea level. We take a nap, eat dinner, and spend the night here. Despite the fact that you start and end the at the same altitude, this is crucial for acclimatization and will assist your body get ready for summit .

Day 5: Ascent From Baranco Camp to Karanga Camp.

After breakfast, we depart Barranco and make our way to the Karanga Valley campground via a narrow slope, passing the Barranco Wall. Acclimatization is the goal of this brief .

Day 6: Ascent From Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

We depart Karanga after breakfast and arrive at the intersection with the Mweka Trail. We keep going up to Barafu Hut. You have now finished the South Circuit, which offers a variety of perspectives of the top. We set up camp here, take a nap, eat dinner, and get ready for the summit . From here, one can see Mawenzi and Kibo, the two summits.

Day 7: Ascent from Barafu Camp to Summit then down to Mweka / Millennium Camp

We proceed to the peak between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers quite early in the morning (between midnight and two in the morning). 
You travel northwest and make your way over steep scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim. 
The hardest part of the walk both physically and mentally is this section. 
You will take brief break at Stella Point (18,600 feet), where you will be rewarded with the most spectacular sunrise you are ever likely to see (weather permitting). 
On your hour-long journey to the summit from Stella Point, you might run into snow the entire way. 
You have arrived at Uhuru Peak, the highest peak on both Mount Kilimanjaro and the African continent. 
The sunrise can be seen from the peak by more rapid hikers.

We now begin our descent from the summit, going straight down to the Mweka Hut campsite while pausing at Barafu for lunch. Due to the loose gravel going down, gaiters and trekking poles are recommended. Due to its location in the upper forest, Mweka Camp may experience late-afternoon mist or rain. We have our final meal on the mountain later in the evening before a well-earned rest.

Day 8: Descent from Mweka / Millennium Camp to Mweka gate.

We continue the descent to the Mweka Park Gate to pick up your summit certificates after breakfast. It could be muddy and damp at lower altitudes. Trekking poles and gaiters will be useful. Most likely, there will be enough to wear: shorts and t-shirts (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy). You travel another hour to Mweka Village from the gate. You will be met by a car at the village of Mweka and driven back to your accommodation in Moshi / Arusha
