Those taking the Shira (Londorossi) route on foot will go with their transfer driver to the Londorossi Gate and then, at a height of around 3800m, to the Moram Barrier. It is crucial that you have given yourself enough time to adjust to the rise in altitude.
The approach to Kili from the west is quite similar to the approach from Lemosho. Shira (Londorossi) travels via the magnificent Shira plateau before joining the Machame trail. If you are okay with starting at a high altitude, this challenging route offers for decent acclimatization.
