MACHAME ROUTE
The most well-liked path up Kilimanjaro is the Machame route, popularly referred to as the “Whiskey” route. Machame’s picturesque beauty is one of its draws. The track is regarded as rough, steep, and challenging, especially given its condensed route. As a result, people who are more daring or who have some high-altitude, mountaineering, or backpacking expertise would benefit most from doing this path.
The journey begins with a brief drive from Moshi to Machame Gate as it makes its way toward Mount Kilimanjaro from the south. To get to Shira Plateau, trekkers must travel through a rain forest. Numerous Kilimanjaro trails come together here. Before summiting from Barafu, the route then turns east and travels beside Kilimanjaro’s Southern Ice Field over a route known as the Southern Circuit. The Mweka path is used for the descent.

Machame is a seven- group climb that Kilimanjaro Ascent® provides, as well as a six- private climb. By combining s four and five, the six- variant travels from Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp without stopping at Karanga.
