LEMOSHO ROUTE

6,7 & 8 DAYS CLIMB

The Lemosho route offers panoramic views of the mountain’s numerous faces, making it the most picturesque trail on Kilimanjaro. Lemosho, one of the most recent routes, is a great option for your ascent. It is our favorite route because it strikes the perfect combination between sparse crowds, stunning scenery, and a high summit success rate. The Lemosho route is a specialty of Kilimanjaro Ascent®. The majority of our customers ascend Kilimanjaro using this route, and they repeatedly express their appreciation for it. Lemosho is therefore highly advised.

The journey begins with a lengthy drive from Moshi or Arusha to Lemosho Gate as Mount Kilimanjaro is approached from the west. The first two s are spent trekking from there to Shira Ridge via the rain forest. The Lemosho path is a pleasant, somewhat level hike that traverses the whole Shira Plateau from west to east. Up until the route’s intersection with the Machame route near Lava Tower, there are few people on the road. Before submitting from Barafu, the route then follows the Southern Circuit beneath Kilimanjaro’s Southern Ice Field. The Mweka path is used for the descent.

Lemosho is a climb that Kilimanjaro Ascent® offers as a seven to eight individual climb or as an eight group climb. Days five and six are combined in the seven- version, which travels from Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp without stopping at Karanga. On special request, a nine- version that includes an overnight stay at Crater Camp is offered as a private climb.
