Mount Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania, East Africa, is Africa's highest mountain, rising 19,341 feet (5,895 meters). It is the world's largest freestanding mountain and one of the seven summits. Its snow-capped peak towers above the surrounding Savannah and is located within Kilimanjaro National Park, which is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. While it is a dormant volcano, it continues to inspire climbers and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world.[read more text="unique call-to-action text here"] Kilimanjaro expeditions are fully supported, which means that climbers are accompanied on the hike by a group of guides, cooks, and porters who handle all the labor. The porters clean up after themselves, cook, collect water, and set up and take down the tents. Instead of expending their valuable energy on labor, clients can concentrate on enjoying the trek and acclimating to the altitude. Each and every one of our guides is a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR), which means they have received the necessary training to handle emergencies in isolated areas. To keep an eye on heart rates and oxygen saturation levels, we perform health checks twice a day. Every time we climb, we bring bottled oxygen. And a great deal more. [/read]
